"Kemoko Sano teaches African Dance from the Republic of Guinea"
The tape features Mandiani, Soko, Ku Ku, Doundounba and other dances. The music is excellent and the tape has a relaxed, informal feeling. For many years, Kemoko Sano has been the choreographer of Les Ballet Africains and other groups and is in many peoples opinion, the best in the world. "Djabote" - Sabar Drumming of Senegal. This is one the best drumming tapes in the world! Master drummer Dudu Ndiaye Rose conducts a huge orchestra of men and women playing stick and hand drums inside the ruins of the slave fort on Goree island off the coast of Dakar, Senegal. Also featured are "tabala Wolof" the Sufi drums of Senegal, and a Christian choir. Recorded in Hi Fi Stereo, also available on CD from Realworld Records.

"Djembefola" - The story of Mamady Keitas' return to his village after a long absence. Great footage of rehearsals and performances as well as moving scenes of village life.

"Evolution of the Tumbadoras" (Basic conga drum instruction and history ) and "History of Songo" (Advanced conga) both by Jose Luis Quintana 'Changuito'- on DCI video. These two videos by Changuito are some of the best for clear and correct instruction in conga drum patterns and technique. Changuito ("little Chango") is an extreme talent and excellent teacher. Both videos includes booklets with all the patterns written in staff notation.

"Journey into Rhythm Vol.1 and 2 " - Djembe and dun dun Instruction with master Guinean musician Karamba Diabate. This is one of the few djembe and dun dun instruction tapes featuring an African master drummer. Karamba has a warm presence and is an exciting "new generation" soloist. "Wongai" Dances from Guinea West Africa Vol. 1 and 2 with master dancer/teacher Yousouff Koumbassa. Excellent source for clear instruction in stage forms of traditional dances. Volume 1 includes Sofa, Soli, Yankadi, Coucou, and Lamban. Volume 2 includes Triba, Sinte, Guinea Fare, Sorsoner and Doundounba, plus commentary by Yousouff about his work and footage of doundounba dancing in Africa. To order call 800 431 3801

"Uncle Mafufo's Basic Rhythms for Arabic Drum" Vol 1. Uncle Mafufo has created a great instruction tape covering the fundamentals of middle eastern rhythms.
